Space Charge Behavior of Quantum Dot-Doped Polystyrene Polymers

This paper deals with the role played by interface and bulk volume of nanofiller about affecting electrical properties a nanocomposite material. For this purpose, simple completely amorphous matrix, polystyrene (PS), is used as base material, core-shell quantum dots are exploited for simulating structure nanocomposites: CdSe core CdSe-ZnS semiconductor (QDs) added into PS matrix. The latter to highlight effect ZnS contrast Dispersion distribution QDs first microscopically observed optimized including isopropyl alcohol in manufacturing phase an additional solvent. Among focus on space charge accumulation, tested means pulsed electroacoustic technique at 10 kV/mm 50 doped composites. Results then compared reference without QDs. Trap depth density also obtained measurement results. When PS, trap increases respect baseline values measured unfilled polymer.
